Dogfish Head Alehouse to open in Reston Town Center's next phase

Dogfish Head Alehouse is coming to the next phase of Reston Town Center, where it will join a mix of incoming tenants including the award-winning restaurant Clarity and Italian restaurant Grazzie Nonna.

The 7,550-square-foot, two-story restaurant is slated to open in October 2026 in the building at 11995 Inspiration St. that houses the dual-branded AC Hotel and Residence Inn. The new Dogfish Head Alehouse will be operated as a franchise by Viswa Vasireddy, who also owns Clarity in Vienna.

The alehouse, which operates under a licensing agreement with the independently owned Dogfish Head Brewery, celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Gaithersburg location last month, as The MoCoshow reported in August. The company told the MoCoshow it was under negotiation with potential landlords to expand into Northern Virginia, though it hadn't identified Reston Town Center as one of those prospective locations. Vasireddy acquired the alehouse in 2024.

"As for Reston Town Center, we believe strongly in its energy and growth," Vasireddy told the Washington Business Journal in an email. "With Clarity and now Dogfish Head Alehouse, we see Reston as a true dining destination that combines local connection with strong regional appeal."

Other recent restaurant additions to the town center include Corsica, Shake Shack and Kusshi Sushi. Greg Hull of Rappaport represented the alehouse in the lease, while BXP's Stephanie Friedman of BXP and CBRE's Lisa Stoddard represented the landlord.

They are among several anticipated restaurants getting ready to open soon in the D.C. area.

In addition to a lineup of craft beers from Dogfish Head, the restaurant's menu will include wood-grilled favorites, burgers, salads and pizza, among other things. It's a return to the commonwealth for the brand, which previously operated locations in Falls Church and Fairfax.

"This will be a franchise location, and we're thrilled to bring back the Dogfish tradition of great food, craft beer, and community in such a vibrant part of Northern Virginia," Vasireddy said in his email. It's still early in the planning process, and more details about the new location will be forthcoming. Vasireddy has retained Pongsak Denpattanapitak of PD Design & Associates to design the new Clarity and Dogfish Head Alehouse locations.
